About this exercise

A mobility drill that rotates the lumbar spine to improve rotational range of motion and release tension in the obliques and deep spinal muscles. Practicing on both sides promotes symmetrical movement and helps prevent low back stiffness.

How to Perform

  • Sit or stand upright with a tall spine
  • Slowly rotate your torso to one side, leading with your shoulders
  • Keep your hips facing forward and avoid twisting through the lower body
  • Hold the rotated position for the prescribed duration
  • Slowly return to the center position
  • Repeat on the opposite side
