About this exercise

A bicep curl variation performed with the Smith machine bar, using the fixed bar path for stability and consistent form. The guided movement eliminates the need for balance, allowing you to focus directly on bicep contraction and peak squeeze.

  • Grip the bar with an underhand (supinated) grip, hands shoulder-width apart
  • Unrack the bar and let it hang at arm's length in front of your thighs
  • Curl the bar upward by flexing your elbows, keeping your upper arms stationary at your sides
  • Squeeze your biceps at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower the bar back to the starting position under control
