About this exercise

A bodyweight lat exercise performed on a smooth floor using a towel. Lying prone with arms extended overhead on the towel, you slide your arms back toward your hips in a pulldown arc, engaging the lats through a full range of motion without any equipment stack.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on a smooth floor and place a folded towel under both hands
  • Extend your arms fully overhead, keeping your body flat and core braced
  • Press your palms lightly into the towel and pull your elbows down and back toward your hips, as if performing a lat pulldown
  • Keep your chest close to the floor and squeeze your shoulder blades together at the bottom
  • Pause briefly with elbows at your sides, then slide your arms back overhead in a controlled manner
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
