About this exercise

A seated rotational mobility drill performed on a chair that stretches and mobilizes the spine, obliques, and surrounding back muscles. It is particularly useful for improving thoracic rotation and relieving tension from prolonged sitting.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on a chair with feet flat on the floor, shoulder-width apart
  • Cross your arms over your chest or place your hands lightly on your shoulders
  • Inhale to prepare, then exhale and slowly rotate your torso to the right as far as comfortable
  • Hold the end position for 1–2 seconds, feeling the stretch through your obliques and mid-back
  • Return to centre and repeat the rotation to the left
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions or duration
