The sitting toe pull calf stretch is a floor-based stretch that lengthens the calf muscles and Achilles tendon by pulling the toes toward the shin while seated. It is accessible for all fitness levels and can be performed without any equipment.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your legs straight out in front of you
  • Keep your back as straight as comfortable
  • Flex one or both feet by pulling your toes back toward your shins using your hands or a towel looped around the ball of the foot
  • Hold the stretched position for 20–30 seconds while breathing steadily
  • Release slowly and repeat on the other side if performing unilaterally
