About this exercise

A seated core exercise performed on a padded stool where you pull your knees up and to the side in a controlled tuck motion, targeting the obliques and abdominals. The elevated seat allows a greater range of motion compared to floor-based tucks.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the edge of a padded stool with your feet flat on the floor, hands gripping the sides of the stool for support
  • Lean slightly back to engage your core and lift your feet off the floor
  • Draw both knees up and toward one side of your torso in a tuck position
  • Pause briefly at the top, squeezing your obliques
  • Lower your feet back toward the floor in a controlled manner
  • Repeat the tuck to the same side for the target reps, then switch sides
