About this exercise

A gentle seated lateral flexion stretch performed in a chair that targets the obliques and side body. Ideal for improving spinal mobility and relieving tension along the waist, suitable for all fitness levels and those with limited mobility.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on a chair with both feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Place one hand behind your head and let the other rest on your thigh
  • Slowly bend your torso to one side, reaching your free hand down toward the floor along your leg
  • Feel a stretch along the opposite side of your waist and hold for 2–3 seconds
  • Return to the upright position in a controlled manner
  • Repeat on the other side
