About this exercise

The sitting floor side-to-side leg raise in-out crunch is a dynamic seated core exercise that combines lateral leg movement with an in-out crunch, targeting the abs and obliques simultaneously. The continuous alternating motion challenges stability and hip flexor endurance in addition to core strength.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with knees bent, feet flat, and hands lightly resting behind you for support
  • Lean back slightly to engage the abs and lift both feet off the floor, finding your balance point
  • Extend both legs out straight to one side while keeping them together and elevated
  • Draw the knees back in toward your chest as you crunch slightly
  • Extend the legs out to the opposite side, then pull them in again
  • Continue alternating sides in a controlled, rhythmic manner for the desired number of reps
