About this exercise

A seated version of the classic air bike (bicycle crunch) performed on a padded stool. The alternating knee-drive and opposite-elbow rotation effectively engage both the rectus abdominis and the obliques.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the edge of a padded stool, lean back slightly, and place both hands behind your head with elbows wide
  • Lift both feet slightly off the floor and brace your core
  • Drive your right knee up toward your chest while simultaneously rotating your left elbow toward it
  • Return to center, then drive your left knee up while rotating your right elbow toward it
  • Continue alternating sides in a smooth, controlled pedaling motion
