About this exercise

A bodyweight core exercise performed while seated on the floor, raising the legs to challenge the lower abs and hip flexors. Keeping the torso upright or slightly reclined increases the difficulty on the abdominal muscles. It is a beginner-friendly movement that builds foundational core strength without any equipment.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with legs extended straight in front of you
  • Place your hands on the floor beside or slightly behind your hips for support
  • Engage your abs and slightly lean the torso back to a comfortable angle
  • Keeping legs together and knees straight, raise both legs off the floor by 20–40 cm
  • Hold briefly at the top, then slowly lower the legs back toward the floor without fully resting them
  • Repeat for the prescribed number of reps
