Sit-ups are a classic bodyweight exercise that strengthens the abdominal muscles and helps build core stability.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor
  • Place your hands behind your head or crossed over your chest
  • Engage your abs and lift your upper body toward your knees
  • Keep your feet anchored and avoid pulling on your neck
  • Slowly lower your back down to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions

About the Sit up

The Sit up is a foundational movement that builds strength and muscle through controlled, progressive overload. Train it 1 to 2 times per week with 3 to 5 working sets per session, gradually adding weight or reps as form holds up.
