About this exercise

A plyometric exercise in which you push off one foot to hop sideways and land on the same foot, training unilateral leg power, lateral stability, and ankle strength. It develops explosive force in the glutes, quads, and calves while challenging balance and coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand on one foot with a slight bend in the knee, hip, and ankle
  • Load the hip and knee by dipping slightly downward
  • Explosively push off your foot to hop laterally to the side
  • Land softly on the same foot, absorbing the impact through the ankle, knee, and hip
  • Stabilize briefly before performing the next rep
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching legs
