About this exercise

The single leg hamstring bridge is a unilateral bodyweight exercise that strengthens the glutes and hamstrings while challenging pelvic stability. Removing one leg from the floor significantly increases the demand on the working side.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor hip-width apart
  • Extend one leg straight out so it is in line with your thigh
  • Press through the heel of the grounded foot and raise your hips until your body forms a straight line from shoulder to knee
  • Squeeze your glutes at the top and hold for a brief moment
  • Lower your hips in a controlled manner back toward the floor without fully resting
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching legs
