About this exercise

A dynamic cardio and core drill combining a lateral punching motion with a simultaneous opposite-side leg lift. The rotational and anti-rotational demands challenge the core and improve coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart and hands raised in a guard position
  • Punch to one side while simultaneously lifting the opposite leg out to the side
  • Return both limbs to the starting position with control
  • Repeat on the other side or continue on the same side for the prescribed reps
  • Keep your core engaged throughout the movement
  • Maintain a tall, upright posture during each rep
