About this exercise

The Side Plank Hip Adduction with bent knee is a unilateral core and inner thigh exercise. You hold a modified side plank on a bent bottom knee, then repeatedly lift and lower the top leg to work the inner thighs (adductors) while stabilising the core and obliques.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your side and prop yourself up on your forearm, stacking your hips
  • Bend your bottom knee to 90 degrees and rest it on the floor for support
  • Extend your top leg straight out to the side at hip height
  • Engage your core and lift your hips to form a straight line from knee to shoulder
  • Raise the top leg upward, then slowly lower it back to the starting position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching
