About this exercise

The Side Neck Stretch is a simple static stretch that targets the lateral neck muscles by tilting the head to one side. It relieves tension and tightness in the neck and upper trapezius, making it ideal as part of a warm-up or cool-down routine.

How to Perform

  • Sit or stand tall with your shoulders relaxed and back straight
  • Slowly tilt your head to one side, bringing your ear toward your shoulder
  • Hold the stretch when you feel tension along the opposite side of the neck
  • Keep your shoulders level and avoid shrugging or rotating the head
  • Hold for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Slowly return your head to the upright position
  • Repeat on the opposite side
