About this exercise

The Side Leg Raise Jack is a dynamic plyometric exercise that blends a jumping jack with a lateral leg raise. By elevating one leg to the side with each jump, it targets the outer thighs and glutes while maintaining the cardiovascular demands of a traditional jumping jack.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump and raise one leg out to the side while simultaneously raising both arms overhead
  • Keep the raised leg straight and controlled during the abduction
  • Land softly on the standing leg with a slight knee bend
  • Return to standing and immediately repeat, raising the opposite leg on the next rep
  • Keep your core engaged and your chest lifted throughout the movement
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions
