About this exercise

A kneeling side-bend stretch inspired by the yoga Camel pose, where you reach one arm back and down toward the heel while opening the torso to the side. The movement lengthens the obliques, hip flexors, and the entire lateral chain of the body.

How to Perform

  • Kneel on the floor with your knees hip-width apart and hips extended, toes pointing back
  • Place your right hand on your right heel or calf for support
  • Extend your left arm overhead and lean your torso to the right, opening your chest toward the ceiling
  • Gently press your hips forward to deepen the stretch along the left side of your body
  • Hold the position, breathing steadily into the stretched side
  • Slowly return to the upright kneeling position
  • Repeat on the opposite side, placing your left hand on your left heel and reaching the right arm overhead

About the Side Camel
