MediumCore

About this exercise

The Shoulder Tap Jack Plank combines the anti-rotation demand of shoulder taps with the explosive lower-body movement of plank jacks, making it a compound core exercise that also elevates the heart rate. Maintaining a stable, level hips position while alternating hand lifts and jumping feet wide is the central challenge.

How to Perform

  • Start in a high plank position with wrists under your shoulders and body forming a straight line
  • Jump both feet wide apart while simultaneously lifting one hand to tap the opposite shoulder
  • Jump your feet back together and place your hand back on the floor
  • Repeat, tapping the other shoulder on the next rep
  • Keep your hips level and resist rotation throughout the movement
  • Continue alternating shoulder taps with each plank jack for the desired number of repetitions
