About this exercise

The Seated Sky Look is a gentle neck and thoracic spine stretch performed while seated, where you slowly look upward toward the ceiling or sky to extend the cervical and upper thoracic spine. It relieves neck tension and improves upper-body postural alignment.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on a chair or on the floor with your spine tall and shoulders relaxed
  • Place both hands lightly on your thighs
  • Slowly tilt your head back, lifting your chin toward the ceiling as far as is comfortable
  • Allow your gaze to follow upward — looking at the sky or ceiling
  • Hold the stretched position for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Slowly return your head to the neutral position
  • Repeat as needed
