About this exercise

A seated unilateral neck stretch that combines a lateral tilt with a slight upward gaze, targeting the lateral neck muscles and the upper trapezius on one side at a time. Regular practice helps relieve tension from prolonged sitting or computer work.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on a chair or the floor with your spine tall and shoulders level
  • Let your arms rest comfortably at your sides or in your lap
  • Slowly tilt your head to one side, bringing your ear toward your shoulder
  • Gently turn your face slightly upward to shift the stretch to the lateral and front neck muscles
  • Hold the position, breathing deeply and relaxing with each exhale
  • Slowly return your head to the center before switching to the other side
  • Keep both shoulders down and relaxed — do not let the shoulder rise toward the ear
