About this exercise

The seated neck side stretch gently lengthens the lateral neck muscles and upper trapezius by tilting the head to one side while seated. It relieves tension built up from prolonged sitting, desk work, or overhead training and improves cervical mobility.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on a chair or bench with feet flat on the floor and shoulders relaxed
  • Let your right ear drop slowly toward your right shoulder until you feel a comfortable stretch along the left side of your neck
  • Hold the position for the prescribed time, breathing steadily
