About this exercise

The seated machine shoulder press builds strength and size in the front deltoids and triceps while the machine guides the movement for added stability.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the machine with your back against the pad and adjust the seat so the handles are at shoulder height
  • Grip the handles with your palms facing forward
  • Press the handles upward until your arms are nearly extended
  • Pause briefly at the top without locking your elbows
  • Slowly lower the handles back to shoulder height under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
