About this exercise

A seated mobility exercise where you actively slide your heel back and forth along the floor while seated on a chair, promoting calf flexibility and ankle joint mobility. The controlled gliding motion gently stretches and activates the calf and hamstring, making it ideal for warm-up, cool-down, or rehabilitation purposes.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on a chair with one foot flat on the floor and the other leg extended in front of you with the heel resting on the floor
  • Slowly slide your extended heel forward away from the chair, pointing your toes upward to feel a stretch in the calf
  • Pause briefly at the end range, then slide your heel back toward the chair, bending your knee
  • Continue sliding back and forth in a smooth, controlled motion
  • Keep your back straight and avoid leaning forward during the movement
  • Complete the desired repetitions on one side before switching to the other leg
