About this exercise

A back exercise where you sit on a padded stool in a reclined "boat" position with legs extended, using a towel looped around a fixed point to perform a rowing pull. The V-sit posture simultaneously engages the core while the rowing motion targets the lats and mid-back.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the padded stool with legs extended in front of you and lean back slightly to form a V-shape with your torso and thighs
  • Hold both ends of a towel looped around a stable anchor at foot level
  • Keep your back straight and core braced to maintain the boat position
  • Pull your elbows back along your sides, drawing the towel toward your abdomen
  • Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the peak of the pull
  • Slowly extend your arms back to the start without losing the boat posture
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
