About this exercise

Seated Alternating Wide Side Adduction is a floor mobility drill performed with legs spread wide in a V-sit position. You alternately draw one knee inward across the body in an adduction arc, dynamically stretching and strengthening the inner thighs and hip adductors one side at a time.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your legs extended wide in a V shape and your back upright
  • Place your hands lightly on the floor behind you for support
  • Bend one knee and slide that foot inward across the midline, bringing the knee toward the opposite thigh
  • Pause briefly when the knee is as far inward as comfortable
  • Return the leg to the wide starting position in a controlled motion
  • Repeat the movement on the other side, alternating continuously for the desired reps
