EasyAbsCore

About this exercise

The seated alternate in-out leg raise is a bodyweight core exercise performed on the floor that targets the abs and deep core muscles. You sit with your torso slightly leaned back and alternate each leg in a scissors-like in-and-out pattern while keeping both legs elevated, creating constant tension through the midsection.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your legs extended and your hands placed behind you for support
  • Lean back slightly so your torso is at roughly a 45-degree angle and lift both feet off the floor
  • Extend one leg straight out low while drawing the other knee toward your chest
  • Alternate the motion fluidly — extend the bent leg and pull the straight leg in
  • Keep your lower back from rounding excessively and your core braced throughout
  • Continue alternating legs for the desired number of repetitions
