About this exercise

A low-impact seated exercise performed on a chair where you alternately lift and lower each foot in a tapping motion. It activates the lower abs and core while improving hip flexor endurance and coordination in a joint-friendly position.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on the edge of a chair with your hands resting on the sides for balance
  • Place both feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Brace your core and lift your right foot off the floor, bringing the knee slightly upward
  • Lower the right foot back to the floor with a light tap, then immediately lift the left foot
  • Continue alternating feet in a rhythmic tapping motion
  • Keep your back straight and avoid leaning to either side throughout the movement
  • Perform the desired number of taps on each side
