About this exercise

A dynamic mobility exercise performed seated on a chair, alternating open-arm swings to loosen the chest and anterior shoulders. The rhythmic alternating motion progressively increases range of motion and prepares the upper body for activity.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on the edge of a chair with feet flat on the floor and your back straight
  • Extend both arms out to your sides at shoulder height
  • Dynamically swing one arm across your chest while the other stays open
  • Return the arm to the side and immediately repeat on the opposite arm
  • Keep your torso still and your chest open throughout the movement
  • Continue alternating at a controlled, rhythmic pace for the desired duration
