About this exercise

A bodyweight push-up variation in which you rotate the torso and raise one arm toward the ceiling at the top of each rep, alternating sides. The rotation engages the obliques and challenges shoulder stability alongside the chest and triceps.

How to Perform

  • Start in a standard high plank position with hands shoulder-width apart and body in a straight line
  • Lower your chest toward the floor in a controlled push-up
  • As you press back up, rotate your torso and raise one arm straight toward the ceiling
  • Hold briefly at the top, keeping hips level and core tight
  • Return the raised hand to the floor and go into the next push-up
  • Alternate the rotating arm with each rep
  • Keep hips from sagging or rotating excessively during the movement
