About this exercise

The Rotate and Leg Lift Crunch combines a rotational crunch with a simultaneous straight-leg raise, working the obliques and rectus abdominis while also engaging the hip flexors. The compound motion makes it more demanding than a standard crunch and provides effective waist-sculpting stimulus.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with legs straight and hands behind your head
  • Simultaneously lift both legs and crunch your torso up, rotating one shoulder toward the opposite hip
  • Hold briefly at the top, squeezing the working oblique
  • Lower your torso and legs back to the starting position under control
  • Alternate the rotation direction with each repetition
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
