About this exercise

The Roll Press Plank is a dynamic core exercise that combines a forearm plank, a rolling transition to a high plank, and a pressing movement back to the starting position. The flow between positions demands continuous core engagement and challenges both static and dynamic trunk stability.

How to Perform

  • Start in a forearm plank with your body forming a straight line from head to heels
  • Press up one arm at a time into a high plank (push-up) position, right arm first
  • Hold the high plank briefly, keeping your hips stable and level
  • Roll or lower back down to the forearm plank, leading with the right arm then the left
  • Alternate the leading arm each rep to balance both sides
  • Maintain a rigid core throughout — do not let your hips rotate or sag
