About this exercise

Pec foam rolling is a self-myofascial release technique used to relieve tension and improve tissue quality in the pectoral muscles. By applying controlled pressure to the chest with a foam roller, you can help reduce tightness commonly caused by prolonged sitting or heavy pressing work.

How to Perform

  • Place a foam roller on the floor and position yourself face down, with the roller beneath one side of your chest near the armpit
  • Support your body weight on your forearms and the roller
  • Apply gentle pressure into the roller and slowly roll from the armpit toward the centre of the chest
  • When you find a tender spot, pause and maintain pressure for several seconds before continuing
  • Keep your breathing relaxed and avoid tensing up against the pressure
  • Roll for 30–60 seconds per side, then switch to the other pectoral
