A seated foam rolling technique where you sit directly on the roller and shift your weight to systematically work through the glutes and outer hips. This position lets you apply significant body weight to release trigger points and tightness in the gluteal muscles.

How to Perform

  • Place the foam roller on the floor and sit on top of it at the center of your glutes
  • Place your hands on the floor behind you for balance and support
  • Cross one ankle over the opposite knee to increase the stretch on one side if desired
  • Slowly rock and shift your body weight forward, back, and side to side
  • Pause on any particularly tight or tender spots for several seconds
  • Roll through the full glute area, adjusting your angle to reach different sections
