About this exercise

A self-myofascial release technique targeting the anterior deltoid and pectoral region performed lying face down on the floor. Rolling this area helps reduce tightness from pressing movements and improves shoulder mobility.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on the floor and place the foam roller under one shoulder and the upper-chest area on the same side
  • Extend the arm of the shoulder being treated out to the side at roughly a 90-degree angle
  • Use your opposite forearm and feet to control how much body weight presses onto the roller
  • Slowly roll along the front of the shoulder and upper chest, adjusting your body angle to cover the full area
  • Pause on any tender or restricted spots for 2–3 seconds and breathe steadily
  • Continue rolling for the desired duration, then switch to the other side
