EasyLower back

About this exercise

A self-myofascial release technique performed lying on the floor that targets the erector spinae — the long muscles running parallel to the spine in the lower and mid back. Rolling this group relieves tightness from prolonged sitting or heavy lifting and supports spinal health.

How to Perform

  • Place the foam roller horizontally on the floor and lower yourself so it sits across your lower back
  • Support your weight through your hands placed behind you on the floor, knees bent
  • Lift your hips slightly off the ground to load body weight onto the roller
  • Slowly roll from the lower back upward along the erector spinae toward the mid-back
  • Pause on tender or tight spots for a few seconds to allow the tissue to release
  • Continue rolling up and down the lower and mid-back region
  • Maintain slow, controlled breathing throughout the movement
