About this exercise

A mobility drill performed seated on an exercise ball where you gently roll the ball to create pressure and activate the pectineus, a small inner-thigh muscle that assists in hip flexion and adduction. Activating the pectineus improves hip mobility and can reduce groin tightness.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on an exercise ball with feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Shift your weight slightly to one side so the ball creates gentle pressure on the inner thigh of that leg
  • Slowly roll the ball in small circles or forward and backward under your inner thigh, targeting the pectineus area near the groin
  • Pause on any tender spots for 5–10 seconds, breathing deeply to encourage muscle release
  • Continue rolling for 30–60 seconds on one side
  • Return to the neutral seated position and repeat on the other side
