About this exercise

A myofascial release and stretch targeting the clavicular (upper) portion of the pectoralis major. Using a ball against a wall or on the floor opens up the upper chest, counteracts rounded shoulders, and improves shoulder mobility.

How to Perform

  • Place the ball against a wall at upper chest height on one side, near the collarbone
  • Lean into the ball so that it presses into the clavicular head of the pectoral muscle
  • Slowly roll the ball in small circles or up and down to explore the tissue
  • When you find a tender spot, pause and hold steady pressure for 20–30 seconds
  • Extend your arm and gently sweep it to increase the stretch
  • Switch to the other side and repeat
