About this exercise

A myofascial release technique targeting the infraspinatus — the rotator cuff muscle on the back of the shoulder blade responsible for external shoulder rotation. Rolling it relieves chronic tension, improves shoulder mobility, and helps prevent rotator cuff issues.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall and place the ball between the wall and the back of one shoulder, over the infraspinatus
  • Lean into the ball to create comfortable pressure on the muscle
  • Slowly roll the ball in small circles across the back of the shoulder blade
  • Pause on tender spots and hold for 20–30 seconds
  • Gently rotate your arm inward and outward to increase the effect
  • Switch to the other shoulder and repeat
