About this exercise

The Rocking Half Frog Stretch is a dynamic hip-opener performed face down with one leg bent out to the side in the half-frog position. The gentle forward and backward rocking motion actively cycles the hip flexors, adductors, and glutes through their range, making it both a stretch and a mobility drill.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down and prop yourself up on your forearms with elbows under your shoulders
  • Bend one knee out to the side at roughly 90 degrees so the shin points away from the body and the knee is level with the hip
  • Keep the opposite leg extended straight back
  • Gently rock your hips backward, sinking toward your heels to deepen the inner-thigh and hip stretch
  • Rock your hips forward again to return to the start position
  • Continue rocking in a slow, controlled rhythm for the desired number of repetitions
  • Switch sides after completing all reps
