About this exercise

A bodyweight hamstring exercise performed with heels placed in gymnastic rings while lying on the floor with hips extended. By curling the heels toward the glutes while keeping the hips raised and straight, the hamstrings are loaded through both hip extension and knee flexion simultaneously.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back and place your heels into the gymnastic rings, which should be set just above floor height
  • Lift your hips off the floor by pressing your heels down, forming a straight line from shoulders to heels
  • Keep your arms flat on the floor beside you for support
  • Brace your core and squeeze your glutes to hold the hips level throughout
  • Curl both heels toward your glutes by bending the knees, keeping the hips extended and raised
  • Hold the contracted position briefly at the top
  • Extend your legs back to the starting position with control
