HardAbsCore

About this exercise

An advanced core exercise performed on gymnastic rings in which you start in an extended body position and pull the rings back toward your hips in a reverse rollout motion. The instability of the rings dramatically increases the demand on the abs and stabilising muscles throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Set the gymnastic rings low, just above the floor
  • Kneel on the floor and grip the rings with both hands
  • Roll forward to extend your body into a straight plank position, arms overhead
  • Brace your core and keep your body rigid throughout
  • Pull the rings back toward your hips by engaging your abs in a reverse curl motion
  • Return to the kneeling start position with control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
