About this exercise

The Reverse Plank on Elbows is an isometric bodyweight hold performed face-up, supported on the elbows and heels. It challenges the posterior chain — particularly the glutes, hamstrings, and lower back — while also engaging the core to maintain a straight body line.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you and elbows directly below your shoulders
  • Press your elbows and heels into the floor and lift your hips off the ground
  • Form a straight line from your head to your heels, squeezing your glutes and bracing your core
  • Keep your chin slightly tucked and your gaze upward
  • Hold the position for the prescribed duration without letting your hips sag
  • Lower your hips back to the floor with control to finish the set
