EasyAbsGlutes

About this exercise

The reverse plank is a bodyweight isometric hold performed face-up, supported on the hands and heels, targeting the glutes, core, and posterior chain while also stretching the front of the body. It complements standard planks by strengthening the often-neglected backside of the torso.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you and place your hands flat on the floor behind your hips, fingers pointing toward your feet
  • Press through your palms and heels to lift your hips and torso off the ground until your body forms a straight line from head to heels
  • Squeeze your glutes and brace your core to maintain the position
  • Keep your head in a neutral position — avoid dropping it back excessively
  • Hold the position for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Lower yourself back to the floor in a controlled manner

About the Reverse Plank
