Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Reverse Crunch Leg Drop.

EasyAbs

About this exercise

A two-phase abdominal exercise combining a reverse crunch with a controlled leg lowering (leg drop). The reverse crunch targets the lower abs by curling the pelvis upward, while the slow leg drop creates an eccentric challenge through the full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with arms at your sides or gripping a sturdy surface overhead for support
  • Raise your legs so your knees are bent at 90 degrees and thighs are vertical
  • Exhale and curl your pelvis upward, bringing your knees toward your chest in a reverse crunch
  • Hold briefly at the top, then inhale and slowly lower your legs back down
  • Continue lowering until your legs are just above the floor, keeping your lower back pressed down
  • Raise your legs back to the starting position and repeat
