EasyFront shoulders

About this exercise

The Resistance Band Y Press is a shoulder press variation where the arms press upward and diagonally outward, forming a Y shape at the top of the movement. This angle activates the front and lateral deltoids as well as the upper trapezius, while the resistance band provides constant tension throughout the range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand on the center of a resistance band with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Grip one end of the band in each hand at shoulder level, palms facing forward or slightly inward
  • Brace your core and maintain a tall, neutral spine
  • Press both hands upward and diagonally outward so your arms form a Y shape overhead
  • Fully extend your arms at the top without locking out aggressively
  • Lower the hands back to shoulder level in a controlled manner
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
