The Resistance Band Standing Chest Press is a chest exercise performed standing with a resistance band anchored behind you, mimicking a horizontal press movement. The standing position engages the core for stability while the band provides accommodating resistance that increases through the range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Anchor the resistance band behind you at chest height, or loop it around a fixed post
  • Stand facing away from the anchor with feet shoulder-width apart, one foot slightly forward for stability
  • Hold the band handles at chest height with palms facing down or inward
  • Brace your core and keep a neutral spine
  • Press both arms forward until fully extended in front of you
  • Pause briefly, then slowly return to the starting position under control
