About this exercise

A shoulder mobility and serratus anterior strengthening drill performed against a wall with a resistance band providing progressive load during scapular protraction and upward rotation. The wall provides feedback to ensure proper shoulder blade mechanics and prevent excessive lumbar extension.

  • Loop a resistance band around both wrists and stand facing the wall with forearms resting flat against it at shoulder height
  • Brace your core and keep your lower back in a neutral position
  • Push your forearms upward along the wall, allowing the shoulder blades to protract and upwardly rotate
