About this exercise

A shoulder prehab and upper back exercise where you hold a resistance band at chest height with both arms extended and pull it apart horizontally until it touches your chest. Directly targets the rear deltoids and helps counteract the effects of forward shoulder posture.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hold a resistance band with both hands, arms extended in front at chest height
  • Keep your arms straight and pull the band outward and backward until it touches your chest
  • Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end of the movement
  • Hold briefly, then slowly return your arms to the starting position
  • Maintain an upright posture and keep your core engaged throughout
