About this exercise

A lying abdominal exercise where a resistance band anchored behind you adds tension as you raise your bent knees toward your chest, increasing the challenge on the lower abdominals compared to the unresisted version.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a resistance band to a fixed point low behind you and attach the other end around your feet or lower legs
  • Lie on your back with legs extended, holding onto a stable surface or pressing palms flat for stability
  • Bend your knees to roughly 90 degrees as your starting position
  • Brace your core and draw your knees toward your chest against the band tension
  • Pause when your hips are fully flexed and lower abdominals are contracted
  • Slowly extend your legs back to the starting position, maintaining control against the band
  • Repeat for the target number of repetitions
